Yun-Chong Pan

Yun-Chong Pan was born in Taiwan in 1935 and emigrated to Toronto in 1962 to study at the University of Toronto. He worked as an economist and then with the Canadian International Development Agency, and his memoir Moving Mountains in India, Drinking Tea in Tbilisi recounts a lifetime in global development. He also retold Journey to the West with the Stone Monkey, whose English-language rights were sold to China, where it became a national bestseller.
