Kathleen O'Grady creates the wondrous world of Patti Kay ; luminous with blue-eyed beetles, fireflies, waltzing petunias, Lish the goldfish, calico kittens mewing in falsetto, and orange kangaroos singing "Old King Cole was a merry old soul."
This is a story of the transform-ative power of a child?s imagination and the role adults can play in the birth of creativity. Children and adults will revel in the story and the brilliant woodcuts by Brona Keenan.
Kathleen O'Grady is a scholar of contemporary French philosophy and religion. Her collection of stories for adolescent girls, Sweet Secrets, was published in 1997. Artist Brona Keenan is currently working in Australia.
